What Sähköhaku does
Sähköhaku compares selected Finnish electricity suppliers using annual consumption and postal code. An MCP interface is also available to AI assistants. It does not sell electricity, enter into a contract on a user's behalf, or process user payments.
Current information
Market products are retrieved from the public interface of the Energy Authority's comparison service. Product data is submitted by suppliers; the service says it is updated daily. Sähköhaku omits some contracts whose annual cost cannot be calculated without a detailed usage profile or promotion terms. Results are not a definitive lowest-price ranking across every contract type. Check the supplier's current terms before ordering.
Calculations
First-year energy cost for simple fixed-price plans is estimated from the reported kWh rate, monthly fee, and user-provided annual consumption. Promotional discounts are omitted where their terms cannot be calculated reliably. Future spot prices are not predicted. An estimate for a current contract uses prices supplied by the user. Calculations exclude electricity distribution and charges billed with it.
Prices retain the VAT basis supplied by the source or user; VAT is not added or removed. Annual estimates for contracts shorter than a year assume the same price for the entire year, although the renewal price is unknown.
Commercial links
Sähköhaku may earn a small commission if a user signs a contract through a link on the site. The comparison includes selected partners rather than the entire market. Fixed-price products are ranked by estimated annual energy cost; spot products are presented separately by margin and monthly fee. A link may lead to a supplier's general plans page. Check the final price and terms before ordering.
Use of the service
Users must not disrupt the service or use it for unlawful purposes. The service may change or be suspended for development, security, or partner availability reasons. Mandatory consumer protection and other applicable laws continue to apply.
